Youthpoint/Streetwatch

Youthpoint is proud to work with young people living in the Govan community. John Hendry, our young person’s worker, based in Elderpark Housing’s office, has been working in the area for around 8 years.

His tireless commitment to supporting young people to give them the confidence and skills they need to reach their potential through life skills courses, his weekly youth club in the Elderpark Community Centre and streetwork was nationally recognised when he was shortlisted for Youth Worker of the Year 2018.

Johnny and the other Youthpoint colleagues have developed partnership with a range of agencies such as GYIP, Glasgow Life, local secondary schools, Govan and Elderpark Housing Association to support young people into employment and those struggling to manage in mainstream services.
