Help & Support for Elderpark tenants

Elderpark Housing Association is doing everything we can to ensure you get the support you need during the current health crisis.

So what are we doing?

We have contacted about 500 tenants we think may be vulnerable. In case we missed anyone, we will survey tenants by sending a link to their smartphone or email address. The purpose of the survey will be to identify people who need benefit advice, fuel advice, or if they have difficulties feeding their family.

So how will this work?

Shopping

We are working with the Dig In Shop to ensure that we can deliver basic essentials, ready- made meal bags and a range of fruit and vegetables.

Food support At Elderpark Community Centre

In addition to meal deliveries on a Monday and Friday provided by Urban Roots and Aberlour,  Govan Thriving Places under their Food for Good Meals Programme is now up and running for individuals and families who live in the Govan area. They provide food parcels and meals free of charge, consisting of 2 courses.
These meals can be cooked from frozen.  There is no referral, just pop in!

The meals and food parcels can be collected from the Food Point at Elderpark Community Centre, 82 Elderpark Street, Govan G51 3ST which is open;

  • Every Wednesday 6pm-7.30pm
  • Every Saturday 2pm-4pm

Keeping in Regular Contact

Our partners the No 1 Befriending Agency have developed a “Phone Pal” service where you can volunteer to phone someone who might need additional companionship at this difficult time.   If you are interested in volunteering phone our main office on 0141 440 2244 and we will refer you to Marketa. Alternatively, should you be interested in using the Phone Pal service, housing staff can complete a registration form with you. For more information Click here

Support from Other Agencies

Elderpark is working with other agencies to help refer and advise tenants and residents to get the support that they require.  For example, Aberlour have a pot of funding available to help families who are facing financial hardship.  This can cover food vouchers for Asda & vouchers to top up meters, in addition they can potentially help families keep teenagers entertained at home by supplying a PlayStation etc. on a temporary basis   For more information please phone main office on 0141 440 2244. .
