Craft Café©

Craft Café© workshops, run by Impact Arts in partnership with Elderpark Housing Association, are free creative arts workshops for over-60s in the Govan area. The classes run three days per week at the Elderpark Centre, giving local older people the chance to work with an experienced professional artist on everything from painting and drawing, to handmade crafts, sculpture, sewing, knitting, embroidery, photography, ceramics and more.

Craft Café© members have free access to a rich supply of art materials, and can choose exactly what they want to do when they attend with support from the tutor team always at hand. The aim of Craft Café© is to celebrate the artistic achievements of local older people, while offering a safe, social, creative atmosphere to help stop older people from becoming isolated in their homes. They also offer physical and mental health benefits. Of members surveyed in 2018,

98% said Craft Café© had helped their physical or mental health,
