Mural Consultation – Update

Consultation : Mural Installation at the Corner of Crossloan Rd & Uist St.

Elderpark Housing are working with Laura from Yardwork Govan to create an attractive image on this street corner which will include the concrete planters.   We sent  a digital survey to those in the surrounding tenemenal stock looking for ideas and design preferences.

You will see that the preferences for a Mural theme are: People in Govan, Nature and Happy Vibe

We will hold a consultation event in the Elderpark Community Centre to develop the theme and start to visualise what this might look like.  If you are interested in painting the mural we will provide a workshop training session with the support of an artist.

Face to Face Consultation on Saturday 18^th Sept   1.00pm – 3.00pm at Elderpark Centre.

To complete the consultation, Laura from Yardwork Govan, invites you to discuss the concept of the mural in more detail, this includes finalising the theme and discussing colours, shapes and images. Soup courtesy of Urban Roots will be available!

Timetable for Workshops At Elderpark Community Centre:  

Workshops, delivered by mural artists, will teach you techniques including painting, collage and drawing. This will also contribute to the design and aesthetic of the mural and planter.

You can attend one or all of the events or drop in at time that’s convenient.

• Tuesday 21^st Sept  – Craft Cafe Workshop – for Craft Cafe members only 
• Wednesday 22nd Sept – 6.30 – 8.30pm: Workshop 
• Monday 27^th September 10.00am – 12.00pm : Workshop 
• Additional workshop will be provided depending on demand.

Following the workshops mural will be created with the community over the weekend of 1st/2nd October.
