Annual General Meeting 2017. “One of the best”

On the 29th June Elderpark Housing Association held our 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM). This event, held at the Elderpark Community centre, had over 30 members in attendance to hear all about our activities during 2016/17.

Prior to the formal AGM Susan Hanlin, Project Manager for the Central Govan Action Plan (CGAP) outlined some of the physical changes which had taken place in Govan with support from CGAP of which there had been many and members were enthused about the work being done to improve the area.

Our Chair, Elspeth Millen gave a review of the year which she said had been one of the more challenging years on a personal level following the sad loss of the association’s previous Director, Christine Murphy who passed away in July last year following a short illness. She also paid tribute to Susan Peters and Sophia Kaseke who stood down from the Management Committee after a number of years and to former committee member, Andrew McQuilter who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Elderpark Housing Association had a positive year in 2016/17 with all aspects of our performance improving and we were especially pleased with the increased customer satisfaction as our main aim is to provide services to our tenants and residents. Our financial performance remains strong and this has given us the opportunity to hopefully commence work on building 82 new homes and a new office later this year.

Our new Chief Executive, Gary Dalziel gave a brief overview of some of the future activities including increased focus on on-line communication, investing in our homes and rebranding with the ambition of the association to provide the best information, the best customer service and the best possible homes to our communities.

The feedback from staff, committee and members attending the AGM was that it was one of the best and most informative in a while and we are delighted that Elderpark Housing continues to grow from strength to strength.
